Winters Respite Readathon – Mini-Mini-Challenge

on January 26, 2012

To participate in Winters Respite Readathon- Mini-Mini-Challenge
Take your current read and pick one sentence from three of the following pages: page 1, page 77, page 179, page 255, page 360, or one from the 5th page from the end (I picked a diverse number for books of varying lengths).
Take the three sentences and make them into a short paragraph. If it makes sense as is, fine. If not, you can add your own words or sentences.
Be sure to bold and/or italicize the original text from the book or, if you leave it in the comments, put quotes around the original text.

This is from page 77, page1 79 and 255 of One Day by David Nicholls

Emma watched his performance, amused; the straining for nonchalance, the slight flare of the nostrils, the smile that flickered at the corners of his mouth.  She doesn’t know much about television, but she is pretty sure that Dexter hasn’t shone.  There’s a momentary silence.

  1. Hey, now that was pretty good. Is this the book that was made into the film with Anne Hathaway? If so, I have it. I look forward to your thoughts on it.

Thanks for playing the mini-mini-challenge. 🙂

It is! I’m almost done, thanks to the readathon. I plan on doing a “page to screen” type review comparing both. The film is on my Netflix cue.
